Station Log: Night Watch

The booth is three rooms above the sea wall. Mara runs the board from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.; I take the graveyard shift after that. The playlist is mostly weather reports, old harbor interviews, and the soft click of the automation system changing carts.

The weather window opens every hour. If the red beacon over the transmitter blinks twice, we check Buoy 17 before we answer any caller.
